Information for April & May
News from Room 8- April 22, 2004
Reading: Students have finished their book club books. We will be starting a new book next week, as well as, a new core literature book.
Writing: We are currently working on our first persuasive essay. The goal for this week was to have our outlines done by Friday.
Grammar: We reviewed quotation rules. We also learned 10 Greek words to add to our vocabulary.
Math: Students have been working with geometry. They will take a geometry test on Friday.
Social Studies: We having been learning about The United States Constitution and the role of the three branches of government.
Science: We took a quiz on changes in matter. We just began looking at atoms and elements. We will finish with our Matter Unit by next Friday.
Art: Students finished painting the pictures of the nature items they brought in a few weeks ago. They painted in the style of Georgia O'Keefe using tempera paints. These pictures will be at the McKinley Art Show/Auction at Kuleto's Restaurant.
