Mission Statement
The mission of the Burlingame School District's Library Media Centers is to develop avid readers and information literate students, thereby creating lifelong learners.
Program Lincoln LMC program integrates classroom curriculum with LMC instruction through cooperative planning and teaching by the library media teacher and classroom teachers. We help students acquire: literary skills, information literacy skills, technology skills, critical thinking skills and an appreciation and love of good literature.
Collection The Lincoln LMC collection has approximately 12,000 titles in a variety of formats including book/cassette kits, magazines, videos, reference material.
Facilities The LMC at Lincoln School has seating for 30 students, a reading area with couch, parent education section, paperback lending library, and early literacy section. The library contains 6 OPAC stations which serve to access the collection's automated card catalog and can also be used as part of the computer lab.
The computer lab has 24 eMac computers, scanner, photo printer, network laser printer and media tech work area. Projector capable connecting to computer for overhead instruction. All computers are connected to the school/district's network and have internet access.
Volunteers Parent volunteers help to make Lincoln's LMC program successful. They assist with circulation, shelving, book processing/repair, supervise LMC at recess and assist during instructional activities. Volunteers receive training at the beginning and through-out the school year.
