Parking Lot Procedures

At Franklin, our goal is the safety of our children. With your cooperation and patience, this procedure will provide a safe and steady flow of traffic through lot.

When picking up or dropping off your child at school, there are two options.

Option #1 – Park on Trousdale or Martinez and walk onto the campus.

THE PARKING LOT IS FOR STAFF ONLY AND THE YELLOW ZONES ARE FOR LOADING DURING NON-PICK-UP HOURS.

Option #2 - Use the following Parking Lot Procedure.

Enter the parking lot through the upper driveway. The beginning and end of the loading zone will be clearly marked with red signs that say ‘DROP OFF ZONE.’ There is room for four cars in the zone at a time. If you are the first car, please pull all of the way forward, to the sign nearest the multi-purpose room, to allow the zone to fill with other cars. Children will be waiting on the curb near the zone and will load and unload in this area only. If your child is not at the curb when you reach the zone, you must proceed forward out of the parking lot and circle one more time.

This procedure applies to all drop-off and pick-up times.
Drop-off: 8:10 – 8:40, 9:15 – 10:10
Pick-up: 11:30 – 11:45, 1:50 – 2:15, 2:50 – 3:20

A FEW HELPFUL HINTS…

• Speak with your child about the procedures and let them know that you will be there waiting for them. If it takes your child 5-10 minutes to exit the building, plan accordingly and come later to pick them up.
• The last five minutes before the morning bell and the first ten minutes after the dismissal bell are the most crowded…plan around those times.
• Have your child ready for school when they get in the car before school (jacket on, lunch and backpack in hand). These details would greatly speed up the flow of traffic.

WE NEED YOUR HELP…

• Please do not park in red or blue zones, on the dirt, near the trees, in the median area between the staff lot and the traffic zone or in the staff lot.
• Please do not move cones or barriers, they are there for a reason.
• Passing in the drop off zone is not permitted. Please wait until the cars ahead of you have loaded before exiting the lot.
• Please make sure that anyone who picks up your child is aware of these rules.
• Please be patient and courteous – especially on Tuesdays. With cooperation, we can make this plan work.
