Homework Contract
• A typical week of homework consists of daily math, spelling, vocabulary and at least 30 mins. of reading.
• There may also be grammar, writing or unfinished work.
• Weekend homework consists of reading at least 30 mins. each day, unfinshed classwork or special projects.
Parents and students will read and sign the statement below.
I understand that homework is my responsibility and I will make it a priority. I will manage my time in order to get it done daily. It will be completed to the best of my ability. I will use my best writing and work carefully and neatly. My parents will check over my work and I will make any corrections or revisions they suggest/request. By signing this contract, I understand that my completed homework will meet fifth grade standards. Turning in homework on time each day may result in a free homework pass, extra time at recess, or other perk. Homework not completed and/or turned in each day will be marked missing (unless sick/excused). I understand that I will have to stay in at recess to complete it and will miss an art project/special activity/field trip each time I have four missing assignments in a trimester.
